With “smartphone” usage increasing, the Social Security Administration has announced a new mobile site for smartphone users.
Those visiting the www.socialsecurity.gov site via Android, Blackberry, iPhone and Windows devices now are being redirected to the agency’s new mobile-friendly site.
The new mobile site has areas for a visitor’s personal online account, as well as information on online services, Social Security numbers, frequently asked questions, publications, connecting with Social Security via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest, news, learning about Social Security, ways to contact the administration and office closings.
There’s even a new mobile field office locator, which can provide turn-by-turn navitation to the nearest Social Security office, based on information input by the visitor.
The SSA estimates that more than 35 million web page views each year are via smartphones.
